Update March 13, 2025

2025 is in full swing. After paying a lot of attention to the Special Leave module in 2024, this year we are going to tighten up our practices.

The first step in this starts well before a sprint. There is now a longer lead time on the research phase of an issue we want to improve in the software. The R&D developer and Product Owner can better figure out what the interests are for partners & customers, as well as the technical challenges and scope of the issue. This forms the functional design for a plan.

Then we will start the construction phase. Depending on the size of the issue, it may mean that several sub-products – spread over a longer period – will be delivered. Step by step, we work together toward the desired ideal image.

Our focus in the coming months will be on several main topics.
Design & Start Building Module Recruitment
– Internationalization
– Home screen for Partners to service customers.

Deploying on AWS services.

Our database is growing: both in terms of users, and the size of the software. To date, Daywize Cloud has made use of various service partners to offer functionalities within the software.
We are growing as an organization and that includes professionalization. After all, we want to guarantee our quality and security standards to you: the (end) user. We have found that AWS fits very well with the services we want to offer. Therefore, we have already transferred two functionalities in the past months:
The AWS Location Webservice and the mail service.

AWS Location Web Service: The Benefits at a Glance
The switch has opened up many new opportunities. For the following reasons, we believe it is an asset
for Daywize Cloud:
– AWS is a reliable and globally known provider of various web services;
– AWS has a strategic partnership with Mendix (the platform on which Daywize runs at
);
– This move contributes to further internationalization of our package. In fact, Amazon’s location web service
is completely international!
We hope for a positive experience with AWS as our new service partner!

Mail server switch
To further improve our services, we have switched to a new mail server, that of AWS. The previous mail server no longer met the standards we use as Daywize. The choice for AWS offers important advantages, such as high reliability and scalability.
With this step we can guarantee the quality and continuity you can expect from us! To guarantee that this functionality can always be used, we do keep our current mail server as a backup. This means that even in the exceptional case of a failure, mail traffic will continue to function uninterrupted.
